In this paper, the distance-dependence of the HRTF is investigated. Measurements on 8 human subjects and 1 dummy head were carried out at two source distances, 1.9 and 0.7 meters. The results were compared to a theoretical model. The distance change mainly affects the ILD, whereas the ITD remains unchanged. A simple model for the ILD change as a function of distance is discussed.
